A Vintage Assessments Explorer's Selection! |
Bowmore may be the oldest distillery on Islay, but Littlemill is, arguably, the oldest distillery in Scotland. The new owners, Loch Lomond (owners of Glen Scotia, amongst others) have closed the distillery temporarily but plan to reopen it as a tourist attraction/ museum facility. This Signatory bottling is from single casks acquired by this independent bottler prior to the closing. Tasting note: Colour: White wine. Nose: toasted coconut. Body: Light, oily, leafy. Palate: Very light. Subtle. Developing distinct coconut. Finish: Icing sugar. (Michael Jackson, Malt Whisky Companion, 4th Edition, 1999) |
