‘BOWMORE’ 17 YEARS OLD Islay Single Malt Gift Pack - Glasses & CD ROM |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
Morrison Bowmore Distilleries |
Fairly deep golden amber colour. Rather antiseptic, smoky, dusty, dried lemon nose. Solid, intense, gently peppery, dry, herbal, faintly medicinal, gentle Islay malt flavours that may not be everyone’s cup of tea. Bowmore is the oldest distillery on the island of Islay (established in 1779). This gift set includes two glasses and the CD ROM providing a virtual tour of the Bowmore distillery itself. |

A Vintage Assessments Explorer's Selection! |
Bowmore is the oldest distillery on the island of Islay (established in 1779), yet it has a very contemporary marketing approach. The gift set includes two glasses specifically designed to enhance the pleasures of this malt and the CD ROM contains everything from the history of whisky to a virtual tour of the Bowmore distillery itself. Tasting note: Colour: Full gold to bronze. Nose: Smoothly aromatic. Nutty malt. Smoky. Medicinal Islay character. Body: Light to medium. Smooth. Firm. Palate: Rounded, firm, malty, dry creaminess. Tightly combined flavours. Finish: Leafy, ferny, malty, sandy, smoky, slightly astringent. (Michael Jackson, Malt Whisky Companion, 4th Edition, 1999) |
