SASSEO PRIMITIVO 2016 IGT Salento |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
MASSERIA ALTEMURA |
Extremely deep intense purple colour. Attractive, spicy, intense, expressive, juicy, ripe plum-cherry puree nose with some cedary mocha-chocolate notes. Fairly dry, medium-full bodied, well structured, harmonious, intense, very ripe plum-cherry puree flavours with a rather juicy, lingering, blueberry-cedar, gently tangy finish. As I said before, there’s nothing subtle about this wine just good old fashioned flavourful Primitivo. It has 14.5% alcohol and 10 g/L residual sugar with lot number LB8192 on the back label. The recommended 2015 (**/**+) was released on June 9, 2018 at $16.95. |

TASTING NOTE: Shows some really pretty black currants, blueberries, oyster shell and crushed stones. Full-bodied with all the fruit you would expect, but also a sense of freshness and style, thanks to a fine layering of acidity/tannin tension. Drink now.
