JUNE'S VINEYARD CHARDONNAY 2017 VQA Creek Shores, Niagara Peninsula |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
13TH STREET |
Not presented - here is my previous tasting note. Bright pale straw colour. Slightly spicy, gently honeyed, apple-lemon nose with some mineral notes. Dry, medium-light to light bodied, lemon-apple flavours with a tangy, very crisp, unoaked, minerally finish. This REPEAT has 13% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with a screwcap closure. Not up to the riper 2016 (**) with 87.5-points released on August 19, 2018. Unfortunately, seven wrong vintages were presented in the lab to both media and consultants previews - in this case it was the old 2015. |

TASTING NOTE: Alcoholic fermentation and malolactic in tank, no barrels. Fruity and a bit nutty with smooth pear and white peach fruit. Lovely subtle fruit with nice texture. Has a purity to it with nice underlying acidity. Harmonious. Score - 90 (Jamie Goode, wineanorak.com, Aug. 1, 2018) |
