FEATHERSTONE |
Bright very pale straw colour. Very slightly tinny, somewhat sweet, honeyed, apple nose with some leesy clove notes. Sweetish, light bodied, spicy, apple puree flavours with a crisp, leesy finish. This REPEAT entry-level blend of Riesling, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Gewürztraminer has 12.5% alcohol and now 17 g/L residual sugar with lot number with a screwcap closure. A total of 1,656 cases were produced. Unfortunately, seven wrong vintages were presented in the lab to both the media and consultants - in this case it was the previous 2015. The 2017 (*+) was last released on May 12, 2018 at $14.95. |

TASTING NOTE: A lovely, medium-bodied Niagara white wine blend of Riesling, Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer, Sauvignon Blanc grapes. Floral, aromatic and off-dry, this is a terrific aperitif or companion to fresh seafood. Finishes with apple blossom. Pair with medium curries and spices as well. Great price. Drink: 2018-2022. Score - 91 (Natalie MacLean, nataliemaclean.com, May 12, 2018) |
