TRADITION PINOT NOIR 2015 VQA Niagara Peninsula |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |

QUEYLUS |
Not presented at the press and/or consultants preview in the LCBO lab - the previous 2014 vintage was presented. Here is my note from a bottle provided by the producer. Fairly deep intense purple colour. Gently complex, very slightly spicy, attractive, floral violet-tinged, ripe, plummy-crancherry-cassis nose with some slightly woodsy, red raspberry notes. Dry, medium bodied, harmonious, elegant, fresh, well integrated, ripe plum-cherry-raspberry flavours with a lingering, slightly cedary, well balanced, very bright finish. The best yet - perfect for salmon and poultry. Has 13% alcohol and 3 g/L residual sugar. |

TASTING NOTE: Very fine aromas of red cherries, herbs and spice. The palate has lovely freshness with a density to the cherry and raspberry fruit. There's real concentration here with dense fruit but also some elegance. Has good acidity and some structure. This is a big wine that's lovely, but will need time to come round. Score - 94 (Jamie Goode, wineanorak.com, Sept. 14, 2017) |
