Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
LEBOVITZ |
Extremely deep intense purple colour. Somewhat sweet, spicy, grapey nose - shades of Welch's Concord grape juice. Fairly dry, light bodied, fizzy, grapey, Concord grape driven flavours with a very crisp, unoaked, sweetish finish. Ready-to-drink. Has 11% alcohol and 16 g/L residual sugar with lot number L18127. Drink soon and well chilled. According to the Vintages Catalogue, it goes well with polenta fries with marinara sauce. Good luck. |

TASTING NOTE: Lambrusco Mantovano is a DOP of the Lombardy region, in northern Italy, making it the only Italian appellation for the Lambrusco grape outside the Emilia-Romagna region. This approachably priced red fizz shows mulberry and blackberry with an intriguing mix of fresh and jammy fruit character and a lengthy, dry finish. It'll make a nice partner for antipasti, or polenta fries with marinara sauce. (Vintages panel, June 2017) |
