Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
CHÂTEAU LÉOUBE |
Very bright light salmon pink rose colour. Slightly spicy, faintly honeyed, ripe, plum-apple nose with some faint mineral notes. Dry, medium-light bodied, very slightly spicy, ripe melon-apple-plum flavours with a lingering, crisp, unoaked finish that has good acidity. Quite elegant and ready-to-drink. This blend of Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah and Mourvèdre has 13% alcohol and only 2 g/L residual sugar. The 2016 (**+) was released on June 10, 2017 at $25.95. TONY ASPLER / 89-points / BUY - Delicate, minerally nose of cherry pits; medium-bodied, dry, lovely mouth-feel, elegant and well-balanced with a red apple flavour. |

Our tasting panel (and our Vintages customers) were so impressed by the 2016 vintage of this wine that we've been excited for the 2017 to arrive. Look for lovely notions of ripe cantaloupe, nectarine, clementine and lavender, and pair with scallops or fish in a light garlic-and-herb butter sauce. |
