Pale straw colour. Slightly spicy, bright, ripe lemon-apple nose with some toasty notes. Fairly dry, medium-light bodied, very pleasant,bright, ripe melon-apple-lemon flavours with a crisp, effervescent finish. This tasty blend of 90% Mauzac and 10% Chardonnay has 12% alcohol and 9 g/L residual sugar. TONY ASPLER / 88.5-points / BUY - Earthy, minerally, lemon zest nose with white blossom notes; medium-bodied, apple and pear flavours with a suggestion of sweetness. Very good value. |

TASTING NOTE: Blanquette de Limoux is the oldest sparkling wine in the world, predating Champagne as the traditional home of sparkling wine. The wines must be crafted at least 90% Mauzac with up to 10% of Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc allowable. The Cuvée Jean Philippe is Mauzac and Chardonnay sourced from 20-year-old vines.
