| Tasting note: House style: delicately spicy … in older ages, [enjoy] after dinner. Colour: bright, greeny-gold. Nose: a hit of oaky vanilla and spice, then grassy peat, and finally a surprisingly emphatic whiff of sea air. Body: light but smooth and firm. Slightly oily. Palate: sweet and juicy. The fresh oak character combines with the typical walnut, but somewhat overpowers the usual spiciness. Finish: that very slight peat again, its quick, smoky, fragrant dryness adding an appetizing full-point. (Michael Jackson, Malt Whisky Companion, 4th Edition, 1999) |
