Bright very light golden color. Intense, slightly smoky, spicy, vanilla-driven caramel nose. Intense, well structured, harmonious, spicy, fairly smoky, warm vanilla custard flavours with a lingering, somewhat cedary, faintly pepper-tinged finish. Similar to when it last appeared in Vintages (***/***+) on August 4, 2012 at $82.95 and was Recommended Best Buy. The name has changed - it was formerly known as the Longrow CV Heavily Peated Campbeltown Single Malt. |

Formerly known as the Longrow CV Heavily Peated Campbeltown Single Malt, this Scotch's name has been simplified, but fear not -- the Scotch itself has not. TASTING NOTE: This is fabulous whisky from Campbeltown, fat and oily, with a smooth, malty, lactic core. Juicy fruit mingles with tobacco, lively spice and a wallop of smoke and iodine. It's gloriously rich but never cloying or sweet. Available in Ontario. Score - 94 (Beppi Crosariol, The Globe and Mail, Aug. 7, 2012) |
