Laimrig is Scottish Gaelic for wharf or jetty. TASTING NOTE: Medium-deep copper-orange colour with aromas of caramel, smoke, vibrant peat, hay and clover. This is bottled at cask strength (54.4% alc./vol.). Without water it’s very dry, hot and spicy with intense clover and peat tones. With a splash of filtered water, it’s dry but very approachable. The floral and peat qualities are refined and the hot and spicy notions fade into the background. This medium-full-bodied Single Malt has a medium-long to long smoky/peaty/floral finish. It needs that little splash of water to let it all come brilliantly together. (Vintages panel, Oct. 2011) |
