GLENFARCLAS 12 YEARS OLD HIGHLAND SINGLE MALT Highland Single Malt |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
J. & G. Grant |
Day-glo yellow amber colour. Intense, very peppery, stewed plum nose with lots of bitter vanilla notes. Dry, medium-full bodied, quite well structured, plummy-caramel flavours with slightly honeyed, very faintly smoky notes on the lingering finish. Not as good as when it last appeared in Vintages (**+/***) on December 5, 2009 at $69.95 and was Recommended. |

TASTING NOTE: A classic and very popular Highland Single Malt. Yellow-gold in colour. Aromas of vanilla, lime, brine and toasty oak. Firm, peaty and decisive on the palate with intriguing elements of spice. Dry with a touch of salt; flavours hover and round out to a nice, very long and lush, smoky finish.
