TASTING NOTE: Nose: Sherryish, nutty aromas predominate. Then malt (slightly buttery), and peat. Each seems to manifest itself as a separate hit. Palate: Lively expression of classic Speyside flavours: sherry, malt and slight smokiness. Finish: Lightly peaty. Appetising. Comment: A straightforward Speyside classic. Also big enough to benefit from considerable age. Score: 8.75 (out of 10). (Michael Jackson, Whisky Magazine, Oct. 16, 2002) |
