Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
Ardbeg |
Light yellow colour. Intense, fairly complex, very smoky, peaty, iodine-tinged nose. Firm, very dry, slightly peppery, gently honeyed, peaty, dried ripe plum flavours with a caramel-tinged finish. Up $25. Seems a bit better than the previous shipment released on October 13, 2007 at $74.95. |

TASTING NOTE: [Nose:] Oily, slapped-on-all-overwith- a-trowel-peat that leaves nothing uncoated. A lovely salty tang gives an extra tweak. [Taste:] Amazing, grassy, salivating sweetness of the malt on one level; lip-smacking, chewy, gently oiled peat on another ... [General comment:] Close your eyes and enjoy. Score – 94.
