If you are or know a Scotch lover, then you understand this is a lifelong passion. A single malt like this one is sourced from several barrels of whisky, the youngest of which is 10 years old. TASTING NOTE: Nose: ripe gooseberries and fat watermelon balance beautifully with the no less refreshing malt; Taste: just so stunningly clean and uncluttered, giving the malt a clear, mouthwatering path to dazzle and shimmer; Finish: gloriously long and chewy for a malt so light, with a slow procession of oak adding spice at the death; Balance: can hardly be called complex, but the allure is its simple, honest, delicate, mouth cleansing intensity. The secret though is its near perfect degree of sweetness ... Score - 91. (Jim Murray, Whisky Bible, 2007) |
