One of the key elements to a single malt whisky's character is how it is aged. The Macallan Fine Oak has a very distinct flavour profile due in part to the time spent in Bourbon and Sherry casks. TASTING NOTE: ... Lovely sweet notes (creamy vanilla, light toffee, marshmallow, shortbread, and a kiss of honey) are accompanied by bright fruit (multi-layered citrus) and potpourri of dried spices, along with a hint of nut and wisp of smoke. A very refined and sophisticated whisky. Score - 94. (John Hansell, Malt Advocate, 1st Quarter, 2006) |
