Made with the Tinta Negra Mole (TNM) grape, the mostly commonly planted vinifera vine on Madeira. TNM makes excellent Madeiras especially those designed for early enjoyment, such as this 'Duke of Clarence'. Julie Arkel, of the Sunday Express, said about a bottling from 1999 "this tasty, well-priced, pudding all-rounder is softly sweet with nuances of honey and raisin. A great buy and a great taste." Since Blandy's aims to replicate the same flavours in each bottling, expect more of the same here. Enjoy with fruit cakes, soft cheeses or chocolate pudding. |
