Whisky expert Michael Jackson defines his scoring system differently from wine critics. He states: “Anything in the 70s is worth tasting, especially above 75. The 80s, are in my view, distinctive and exceptional. The 90s are the greats.” (Michael Jackson, Malt Whisky Companion, 5th Edition, 2004). Until now, this bottling was only available almost exclusively in the French market. TASTING NOTE: Colour: Bronze red. Nose: Seville oranges, lemons. Turkish delight. Rose-water. Body: Gently rounded. Palate: Smooth. Spun sugar. Caramel. Tightly combined flavours. The extra years have made a big difference. Finish: Cinnamon. Ground nutmeg. Nutty. Score – 84. (Michael Jackson, Malt Whisky Companion, 5th Edition, 2004) |
