| CULVER CLASSIC CUVÉE EXTRA BRUT SPARKLING Dorset, England, traditional method |

LANGHAM |
| This note is based on a blind comparative tasting of 4 sparkling wines which turned out to be the new Vintager November 22 English Classic Cuvee releases. Tasted second, Langham was the second least expensive at $74.95. It had a deep yellow-gold colour. The nose extremely intense, minerally, somewhat oxidative, toasty, lemon yogurt - distinctly not for everyone. Extremely dry, medium-plus bodied, very complex, minerally, salty, leesy, lemon yogurt flavours with a very toasty, fairly effervescent, mature finish. This blend of 75% Pinot Noir, 14% Chardonnay and 11% Meunier has 12% alcohol and 5 g/L residual sugar with the bottled lot number 02.09.2022 on the back label. A love it or hate it style, drink now. |

| TASTING NOTE: Exquisite sparkler, from Langham's own estate vineyard deep in Thomas Hardy country near Dorchester. The latest release is based on the 2019 vintage. Bone dry, but not sour in the least, it delivers light baked apple, fresh apricot and toasty notes and has the gentle, tiny but busy mousse which this winery excels at. 14 months spent on lees, it's delicious with seafood, especially crab. Drinking window: 2022-2026. Score - 93 (Susy Atkins, decanter.com, June 25, 2022) |
