LE COLOMBARE RECIOTO DI SOAVE CLASSICO 2020 DOCG
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer PIEROPAN
Bright golden yellow colour. Lovely, sweet, honeyed-caramel nose with slightly spicy, floral, chamomile tea, quince and dried apricot notes. Sweet, medium-full bodied, well balanced, rich, ripe. apricot jam flavours with a lingering, harmonious, nicely textured, slightly nutty, buttered, warm French toast finish. Pieropan’s rendition is made exclusively from Garganega grapes which are carried by hand to the drying loft where they are spread on bamboo cane mats to dry naturally for approximately 5 months. They dehydrate which concentrates the fruit and natural sugar along with noble rot. The wine is then aged for 2 years in large 2500 litre acacia and French oak barrels. The result in this case is s a wonderful ready-to-drink dessert wine perfect with almond-based dishes, pastries, fruit tarts and blue cheese. It has 13% alcohol, 120 g/L residual sugar and 6.2 g/L total acidity with lot number L27.11.23 on the back label. Only 180 bottles are available. CSPC 46179

TASTING NOTE: In a 500-milliliter bottle, the Pieropan 2020 Recioto di Soave Classico Le Colombare is made with airdried Garganega grapes. This pretty dessert wine reveals a light amber color and a busy bouquet that incorporates elements of chamomile tea with honey, dried mint, daisies and other herbal elements. At its core is sweet apricot and peach. The wine starts off in cement and ages in acacia barrels for two years. You get extra richness and intensity in this hot vintage. Drink date: 2025-2037.
