Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer CHAPEL DOWN
This note is based on a blind comparative tasting of 4 sparkling wines which turned out to be the new Vintager November 22 English Classic Cuvee releases. Tasted fourth, Chapel Down was the most expensive at $119.95 and was the highest rated. Bright medium-light yellow colour. This 100% Chardonnay has an attractive, elegant, slightly floral, ripe, wintermelon-lemon-apple-apricot nose. Dry, medium bodied, harmonious, gently toasty, ripe, lemon-apple meringue flavours with some lingering, minerally notes on the effervescent finish. It has 12% alcohol and 7.5 g/L residual sugar and was aged for 4 years on the lees. CSPC 21281
