CHÂTEAU LA NERTHE |
| This spicy new blend of 28% Grenache Blanc (was 40), 33% Viognier, (was 30), 24% Roussanne (was 22) and 16% Marsanne (was 8) comes from another hot vintage. It has a forward light yellow colour and an rather spicy, gently floral nose with some complex, faintly leesy, intense, melon-tinged, warm-apple-pear fruit. Dry, medium to medium-full bodied, rounded, spicy, fairly intense, ripe, lemon-melon-apple-pear flavours with a lingering, somewhat honeyed, minerally finish. Aged in tanks with 6 months on fine lees. Perhaps too soft/flavorful for seafood, poultry should work best. It has 14% alcohol, 2 g/L residual sugar and a shy 4.8 g/L total acidity with lot number L24071 on the lower part of the glass bottle. Has no ML and spent 6 months on the lees in stainless steel vats. |

A Vintage Assessments Explorer's Selection! |
| TASTING NOTE: A refreshing, aromatic and well-rounded blend of 32% viognier, 28% grenache blanc, 24% roussanne and 16% marsanne. Aromas of fresh lemons, dried leaves, fennel and wildflowers on the nose. It's medium-bodied with a fresh core of yellow fruit mingling with the herbs. There is volume and a well-rounded texture on the mid-palate and onto the flavorful finish, with a touch of anise. From organically grown grapes. Drink now. Score - 92.
