JACKSON-TRIGGS NIAGARA ESTATE GRAND RESERVE SHIRAZ 2022 VQA Niagara Peninsula
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer JACKSON-TRIGGS
Deep purple-red colour. Intense, juicy, slightly spicy, ripe, plummy-black-cherry puree nose with lots of warm cedary notes nose the nose. Dry, medium-full bodied, well-textured, quite rich, ripe, black cherry flavours with a lingering, faintly savoury, quite cedary, very lively youthful finish. Aged for 16 months in 60% French and 40% American oak, (27% new). Will improve with further aging and would go well a garlic-sage rack of lamb. It has 13.8% alcohol, 2.7 g/L residual sugar and a hefty 6.1 g/L total acidity. Screwcap closure.
