| Deep intense purple-garnet colour. Attractive, very slightly spicy, intense, ripe, plum nose with some hints of cassis and a touch of cedar-sandalwood. Dry, medium-full bodied, fairly extracty, firm, plum-blackberry flavours with a lingering, somewhat cedary, faintly tannic, bright, rich finish with a touch of herbes de Provence. This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon was aged in French oak for 18 months and is unfiltered which explains the great mouthfeel. It has 13% alcohol and 1.5 g/L residual sugar with lot number 20230618 on the lower part of the glass bottle. Great for a well marbled steak. |

| TASTING NOTE: This is all from estate fruit and is bottled unfined with light filtration. The grapes were fully destemmed and fermented wild in eight-ton oak fermenters and left on skins for 31 days. After pressing, the wine was aged in French oak barrels for 18 months before careful barrel selection and blending. Quite fruit-laden on the nose with intense cassis, blackberries and Morello cherries with integrated spice notes. The palate shows firm structure and more meat on the bones with a melange of dark berries, polished tannins, more evident spice and a lifted, long finish. Can cellar through 2033. Score - 91 (Rick VanSickle, winesinniagara.com, May 13, 2025) |
