NIAGARA GRAND RESERVE WHITE MERITAGE 2023 VQA Niagara Peninsula
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer JACKSON-TRIGGS
Bright medium-plus straw colour. Attractive, very gently honeyed, slightly spicy, ripe, yellow-grapefriuit aromas with some slightly toasty, minerally notes. Dry, medium to medium-full bodied, well structured, lifted, ripe, lemon meringue flavours with a harmonious, bright, very faintly grassy, harmonious, toast-tinged finish. This very tasty new blend of mostly Sauvignon Blanc awith some Semillon leans in the classic Bordeaux direction (vs. New Zealand’s bright herbal grassiness). The Semillon portion was fermented in used French oak and aged on its lees for 7 months, while the Sauvignon Blanc was kept in stainless steel with lees aging. It has 13% alcohol, 2 g/L residual sugar and 7 g/L total acidity with lot number L240530 on the lower part of the glass bottle. CSPC 360297
