| Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
OLABARRI |
| This tasty 10-year-old Gran Reserva has a deep intense purple colour. Fairly complex, intense, gently cedary, sandalwood-tinged, ripe plum nose with some crancherry notes. Dry, medium-plus bodied, well structured, fairly intense, ripe, Damson plum and crancherry flavours with a lingering, harmonious, cedar-tinged finish. Aged for 24 months in French and American oak and then aged for 3+ years in bottle before shipping. It has 14% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L-150525 on the back label. This blend of 80% Tempranillo, 16% Graciano and 4% Mazuelo received a Gold Medal at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2021. Intense, needs a big glass and a chance to open up. |

| TASTING NOTE: This dark violet-red-colored wine has a nose of fruits of the wood, dark chocolate and bacon. A nice smoky note on the palate underlies plush tannins. Blackberry, cassis, mocha, espresso and aniseed flavors melt into a long, spicy finish. Score - 93 (Mike DeSimone, Wine Enthusiast, July 1, 2023) |
