FRANCIACORTA CRU PERDU MILLESIMATO BRUT SPARKLING 2019 DOCG
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer CASTELLO BONOMI
NEW in Vintages. Bright medium straw colour. Quite intense, fairly attractive, gently complex, somewhat minerally, lemon-apple nose with some leesy notes on the youthful nose. Very dry, medium bodied, minerally, youthful, bright, somewhat lightish, lemony-apple flavours with a lingering, fairly high acid, gently leesy, lifted, crisp, effervescence finish. This well-made recently-disgorged (not done in 2023 but on November 19, 2024) is a blend of 70% Chardonnay and 30% Pinot Noir with 12.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar. Quite ready-to-drink, it is much better than most of the Franciacortas tasted recently which, unfortunately for my taste, tend to be overpriced.

TASTING NOTE: Restrained white stone fruits, lemons and a touch of bay leaf on the nose. The palate is lean, with light body, zesty acidity and a tight, tense, superpolished finish focused on citrus pulp and sour white peaches. Full of vibrancy. From organically grown grapes. Disgorged November 2023. Drinkable now but best after one to two years. Score - 95 (jamessuckling.com, May 30, 2024) Price $ 48.95
