| NEW in Vintages. This hefty surprisingly youthful 2020 iseems still slightly tannic and has an extremely deep Intense purple colour. There are layers of minerality on the nose with lots of black-cherry-cranberry fruit along with some toasty notes. Dry, medium-plus bodied, rather dense, somewhat peppery, very bright, crancherry fruit flavours with some cedary, high acid notes on the lingering, slightly cedary finish. Seems a tad unintegrated at the moment, it probably could another year or so in the bottle. Fermented in tank with 50% being aged for 12 months in French oak barrels (25% new) where the malolactic fermentation takes place. It has 14% alcohol and according to the LCBO 4 g/L residual sugar. Unfortunately, I am not certain when this batch was actually bottled (the lot number L22263 appears on the lower part of the glass bottle). |
