ESTATE PINOT GRIS 2022 VQA Beamsville Bench, Niagara Escarpment
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer CAVE SPRING
This Beamsville Bench estate-grown Pinot Gris has a salmon-tinged yellow colour. Bright, slightly spicy, faintly honeyed, floral nose with some ripe lemon-pear-apple notes on the nose. Dry, medium to medium-full bodied, mouthfilling, faintly honeyed, slightly spicy, ripe, apple-melon-lemon fruit flavours with a lingering, very bright finish. Seems quite ready-to-drink and should work with Sunday brunch smoked salmon omelet, quiche and/or chicken. It has 12.5% alcohol (vs the hefty 14.5% for the great 2019) and only 2 g/L residual sugar (not 8 g/L as listed by the LCBO) with a hefty 7.9 g/L total acidity. Seems quite ready-to-drink. CSPC 25235

It's ripe and dry, with bright, fresh acidity and a rich mouthfeel. Look for pear, citrus and tropical fruit tones with a touch of spice and mineral and pair with roast pork, smoked-salmon pasta, or vegetarian curry. Price $ 27.95
