| LE GRAND CLOS PINOT NOIR 2021 VQA Niagara Peninsula |
| Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
LE CLOS JORDANNE |
| Medium-deep red colour. Initially a tad restrained, the nose opens beautifully with ripe Damson plums, raspberry-cassis-cherry-cranberry fruit with some minerally, elegant, cedar notes. Dry, medium-plus bodied and quite well texture with refined, ripe, plum-raspberry-cherry fruit that is followed up by a lingering, gently complex, gently toasty, bright, cedar-tinged finish. Quite ready-to-drink, it would be perfect with a rack of lamb and would also pair with with an Atlantic salmion roast. It has 13.1% alcohol,2.2 g/L residual sugar and 5.7g/L total acidity with lot number L230322. Screwcap closure - a total of 800 cases were produced. |

| TASTING NOTE: Bing cherry and vanilla aromas are joined by earthy notes of post-rain petrichor. The wine's gossamer texture is mesmerizing, almost allowing flavors like red raspberries, coriander and orange zest to escape unnoticed. The Grand Clos is an exercise in balance and restraint, with crisp acidity and fine, grainy tannins. Editors' Choice. Score - 94 (Michael Alberty, Wine Enthusiast, March 1, 2025) |
