| LE GRAND CLOS CHARDONNAY 2021 VQA Twenty Mile Bench, Niagara Escarpment |

LE CLOS JORDANNE |
| Not the easiest of vintages, this successful 2021 has a bright very light yellow colour with an attractive, fairly intense, slightly spicy, bright, ripe, lemon meringue nose with some mineral-tinged, toasty notes. Dry, medium-plus bodied, very nicely tectured, slightly spicy, ripe, lemon meringue flavours with a lingering, harmonious, fairly toasty finish. Showing very nicely and seems quite ready-to-drink. Fermented and aged in French oak (about 20% new) for approximately 20 months, it has 13.1% alcohol, 1.5 g/L residual sugar and a modest 5.4 g/L total acidity which seems higher due to minimal filtration. It will go well with poultry, white meats and some seafood dishes - especially lobster. Screwcap closure - only 700 cases produced. |

| TASTING NOTE: At first, this wine is steely and unyielding. With some glass swirling, a beautiful aromatic tapestry of French lemon-scented laundry powder, oak spice and melon wrapped in Prosciutto unfurls. Then bright, juicy acidity opens the floodgates, with flavors of lemon zest, wet slate and filberts washing over the palate. Try everything you can to find this wine. Editors' Choice. Score - 95 (Michael Alberty, Wine Enthusiast, March 1, 2025) |
