| This tasty, crowd-pleasing, continuously available Vintages Essential has a bright extremely pale straw colour with an attractive, intense, gently spicy, slightly floral, fresh, ripe apple-melon-lemon nose with bright mineral notes. Off-dry and medium-light bodied, the tangy, bright, ripe, apple-melon-lemon flavours are followed up with a lingering, crisp, mineral-tinged finish. Wonderfully balanced and ready-to-drink, it has a modest 10% alcohol, 28 g/L residual sugar and a hefty refreshing 9.23 g/L total acidity with a screwcap closure. A great well-priced refresher, especially with flavourful, spicy Chinese and Indian dishes. |

| TASTING NOTE: Clean, crisp, and classic, the Sketches riesling offers flavours of ripe peaches, apples, and apricots, alongside a faint, shower curtain-adjacent aroma. There is sweetness here for sure, but it is balanced by tart acidity. I would drink this riesling over the next couple of years, perhaps paired with sweet and spicy sauces, something along the lines of Thai, Laotian, and Indian curries. Tasted June 2024.
