PICNIC 2023 DO Rueda
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer BODEGAS VEGNZONES
Don't be fooled by the name. This very tasty, ready-to-drink, crowd-pleasing, bargain-priced, 100% Verdejo from the Rueda region just north of Madrid is a serious white. It has a light straw colour with an attractive, gently spicy, fresh, lemon-melon-apple-peach nose with lots of mineral notes. Dry, medium bodied, bright, ripe wintermelon-yellow-grapefruit flavours with a crisp, refreshing, unoaked finish. Ready-to-drink and perfect with seafood, poultry and appetizers, it has 13% alcohol and under 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L05125 on the back label. CSPC 32810

TASTING NOTE: The Verdejo (vr-DAY-ho) grape, which is native to Rueda in central Spain, is a unique variety that mixes many different flavour profiles. Its aromatic intensity is reminiscent of Sauvignon Blanc, but its full, round body makes it a close partner to Viognier. With notes of peach skin, lime and beeswax, this lovely white will make a fine accompaniment to escalivada (roasted Mediterranean vegetables in garlic oil). Price $ 14.95
Bottle Size 750 mL
