| WILD FERMENT SAUVIGNON BLANC 2024 WO Stellenbosch |
| Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
RUSTENBERG |
| NEW in Vintages. Just bottled last December, this intense, still rather youthful 2024 was barrel fermented and aged for six months on its lees in oak (10% new). It has a light straw colour and a gently grassy, fairly rich, ripe, lemon-apple meringue nose with some buttery, lifted floral-mineral notes. Dry, medium-plus bodied, very bright, complex, minerally, gooseberry, peach-aprricot-apple fruit flavours with a crisp, lingering, still faintly resiny, nutty finish. The best is yet to come - say in 2 or so years. It has 13.5% alcohol, 3 g/L residual sugar and 5.5 g/L total acidity. It was just bottled last December with a screwcap closure. |

| TASTING NOTE: This barrel-fermented Savvy is made from fruit grown at some of the highest-altitude vineyards in the Stellenbosch, situated in the foothills of Simonsberg Mountain. It offers gooseberry, white peach and pineapple notes and a nice, round mouthfeel and will drink well through 2030 and potentially beyond. |
