WILD FERMENT SAUVIGNON BLANC 2024 WO Stellenbosch
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer RUSTENBERG
NEW in Vintages. Just bottled last December, this intense, still rather youthful 2024 was barrel fermented and aged for six months on its lees in oak (10% new). It has a light straw colour and a gently grassy, fairly rich, ripe, lemon-apple meringue nose with some buttery, lifted floral-mineral notes. Dry, medium-plus bodied, very bright, complex, minerally, gooseberry, peach-aprricot-apple fruit flavours with a crisp, lingering, still faintly resiny, nutty finish. The best is yet to come - say in 2 or so years. It has 13.5% alcohol, 3 g/L residual sugar and 5.5 g/L total acidity. It was just bottled last December with a screwcap closure. CSPC 45167
