| WILD FERMENT ASSYRTIKO 2024 PGI Peloponnese |
| Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
SKOURAS |
| This youthful, very classy, well-priced 100% Assyrtiko has a medium straw colour and a lovely, fresh, very faintly grassy, mineral-tinged, floral, ripe, lemon-melon-apple-yellow-grapefruit nose. Dry, medium bodied and nicely structured (aged sur lies for 4 months) with bright, fresh, ripe, citrusy, lemon-apple meringue flavours followed up by a lingering, refreshing, mineral-tinged finish. Versatile and quite ready to drink, it can actually improve over the next few years. It has 13% alcohol, under 2 g/L residual sugar and only 5 g/L total acidity with lot number L250320 on the back label. Screwcap closure. Outstanding value - the best to date. |

| TASTING NOTE: Made from 100% Assyrtiko grown in and around Nemea on the Peloponnese Peninsula, this wine was vinified in stainless steel using wild yeast. Crisp and saline, it offers notes of tangy citrus, crunchy apple, and marine stones on the way to a long, layered finish. Savour it through 2035. |
