LIMESTONE VINEYARD SOUTH RIESLING 2023 VQA Twenty Mile Bench, Niagara Escarpment
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer REDSTONE
A REPEAT of the recommended 2023 that was released on October 19, 2024. Here is my updated assessment of this recent GOLD MEDAL winner at the National Wine Awards of Canada from a new just-opened bottle. Bright very pale straw colour and a still youthful, slightly spicy, lemony, ripe red apple nose with some mineral notes. Dry, medium to medium-light bodied, slightly spicy, bright, apple-melon-lemon flavours with a lingering, gently minerally, slightly petrol-tinged finish. A great summer refresher, It has 10% alcohol and a surprising 33 g/L residual sugar (it seems much drier due to the high level of total acidity). Promises to age well as it was screwcap bottled only one year ago on July 25, 2024. CSPC 381251
