TRADITION CUVÉE SAINT FLAVY BRUT CHAMPAGNE AC, Chigny-les-Roses, France
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer GARDET
Bright medium-light straw colour. Intense, youthful, slightly peppery, very faintly earthy, minerally, firm, lemon-apple nose. Dry, medium bodied, very slightly spicy, minerally, crisp, lemon-apple flavours with an effervescent, bright, somewhat leesy, very crisp finish. This new batch of 45% Pinot Noir, 45% Pinot Meunier and 10% Chardonnay has 12% alcohol and 8 g/L residual sugar. Somewhat disappointing at the new price point which, up until two years ago, was always under $50. Tasted once. CSPC 924654

TASTING NOTE: (Translated from the French) Seductive and flavourful both in aromas and flavours. Fruity notes dominate, with hints of jammy red fruit that seem light thanks to the fine bubbles. A moderate sweetness entices,   with accents of red currant jelly, but the Champagne remains straightforward and vivacious. Balanced. Score - 94 (Terre de Vins, Dec. 2023) Price $ 63.95
