| CLAYSTONE TERRACE CHARDONNAY 2022 VQA Twenty Mile Bench, Niagara Peninsula |
| Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
LE CLOS JORDANNE |
| Bright medium-light straw colour. Bright, ripe, pear-lemon-apple meringue nose with some fairly intense, minerally, toasty notes. Dry, medium to medium-full bodied, well structured, harmonious, fairly rich, ripe, lemon-pear-apple-lime flavours with a lingering, bright, nicely textured finish with just a faint hint tropical fruit. This tasty 2022 completed its fermentation in French barrels where it spent 20 months. It has 13.5% alcohol, 1.3 g/L residual sugar and slightly modest 4.9 g/L total acidity with a bottling date of June 18, 2024. This suggests to me that it is best consumed in the near future over the next year or so. Only 470 cases were produced. |

| TASTING NOTE: The Claystone Terrace Chardonnay 2022 is sourced from a single vineyard on Twenty Mile Bench. Each vine shoot is meticulously positioned by hand for better ventilation and concentration of the grape clusters. The finished wine offers delicately perfumed yellow apple, nutmeg, almond, truffle, and wet stones. Savour with grilled lake fish. |
