EL PACTO AGREEMENT NO. 1 LIMITED PRODUCTION CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2022 Valle de Cachapoal
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer SANTA CAROLINA
This brand new 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon has a deep purple-tined garnet red colour and a very attractive, ripe, cassis-driven, Damson plum nose with some gently cedary notes. Dry, medium plus bodied, bright, ripe, Damson-plum-cassis-black-cherry flavours followed up a lingering, nicely textured, gently toasty finish. At peak - it is showing very well now and has 14% alcohol and 3.9 g/L residual sugar with lot number L5030 on the lower part of the glass bottle. Once fermentation was completed, the wine was racked into 5,000-liter foudres and French oak barrels, where it underwent malolactic fermentation and was then aged for 12 months before bottling. It comes in an impressive hefty bottle with a red wax capsule. CSPC 35673

A Best Buy
TASTING NOTE: A nicely chewy cabernet sauvignon that is not shy about its plentiful, dusty tannins. Roasted red chiles, spiced cherries and currants. A touch of dark chocolate. Juicy and peppery, with tight tannins and a long, vertical finish. Better in one or two years. Score - 93 (Zekun Shuai, jamessuckling.com, March 7, 2024) Price $ 18.95
