| Here is the Vintages Wine of the Month (actually now for only for two weeks). It is a Luca Maroni 99-point award winner with no tasting note available. Basically designed with lots of fruit and a fair amount of residual sugar (14%) to appeal to the general public and wine neophytes which is necessarily not a bad thing. This oak-aged blend of 40% Merlot, 20% Syrah, 20% Sangiovese and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon has a medium-deep purple-red colour. The nose is very spicy with lots of juicy, plummy black cherries - reminiscent of some entry-level California jug wines of yesteryear. The palate is off dry, medium bodied, very spicy, juicy, plum jam and black-cherry flavours with some some sandalwood notes on the lingering finish. It has 13.5% alcohol with lot number L25015A on the back label and comes in an impressive-looking label. Enjoy! |
