ALAZANI VALLEY WHITE 2023 Kakheti
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer KONCHO
This tasty versatile off-dry NEW Vintages release hits the spot for casual hot weather drinking. It is made from Georgia’s indigenous Rkatsiteli grape by Koncho - the winery founded in 1737. Light straw colour it has an attractive, slightly spicy, floral, honeysuckle nose with ripe cataloupe notes. Off-dry, medium-light bodied, bright, tasty wintermelon-pear flavours with a refreshing, harmonious finish. It has 11.5% alcohol with great acidity that is perfectly balanced by some 20 g/L residual sugar (perhaps one might argue that it is dry compared to the 35 g/L residual sugar 2023 from Tbilvino Georgian Valleys that appeared last summer). TASTING NOTE: This wine is sourced from the alluvial black-blue slate of the Alazani Valley: a relatively warm region that produces riper grapes and grapes with higher sugar levels than anywhere else in Georgia. The sweetness here is well-balanced by bold, driving acidity, and the wine is fresh, dynamic and generously floral, with lifted wildflower and honey tones. Pair with spicy seafood or grilled vegetables. Price $ 16.95
Bottle Size 750 mL
