STRATUS 2022 Valle de Uco, Mendoza
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer TRIVENTO
NEW in Vintages. This hefty blend of 65% Malbec, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc and 10% Merlot has an extremely deep intense dark purple colour. The nose is surprisingly powerful and gushing with ripe, plummy, cassis, black cherry fruit along with elegant toasty notes. Dry, full bodied, dense, rich, bright, ripe, layered, black cherry, cassis, Damson plum and raspberry fruit all followed by by a lingering, well textured, harmonious, gently grippy finish. Showing nicely but capable of aging for another decade. Great with a well marbled steak, it has 14.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number 2025/12/16 on the back label. CSPC 49614

TASTING NOTE: Unlike Eolo, which is a varietal wine, Stratus is an assemblage of Malbec, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% each of Cabernet Franc and Merlot, made with equal components from Gualtallary, Los Chacayes and Paraje Altamira. Polished, nuanced, layered and self-assured, this has toast and espresso oak, lots of grip, structure and intensity, layers of cassis, blackberry and incense and a balanced, lingering finish.
