Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer CAVE SPRING
Bright light yellow colour. Intense, faintly spicy, bright, gently floral, fresh, ripe, apple-lemon-melon nose with some minerally notes. Dry, medium bodied, slightly spicy, faintly honeyed, fresh, lemon-apple-pear flavours with a crisp, unoaked, mineral-tinged finish. This tasty, versatile, still-youthful Vintages Essential hits the spot. It has 12.5% alcohol, 5 g/L residual sugar and 6 g/L total acidity and comes with a cork closure. Fermented 50% in a large oak cask and the balance in small neutral oak barrels. All lots fermented using indigenous yeasts and aged for 12 months sur lie. TASTING NOTE: Crafted with 100% Riesling from a single estate vineyard, this wine was fermented in oak and spent 12 months on the lees in barrel. The result is a deeply complex wine with suggestions of lemon drop, lime, nutmeg, honeycomb and dulce de leche. Savour with curried prawns, pork tenderloin, or onion tarts. Price $ 34.95
