TRIUS RED THE ICON 2024 VQA Niagara Peninsula
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer TRIUS
Fairly deep purple garnet red colour with bright, ripe, Damson plum nose with some hints of black cherry and cassis along with gently toasty notes. Dry, medium bodied, still youthful, slightly spicy, plum-crancherry flavours with a lingering, gently cedary, very faintly savoury ,crisp finish. Still quite youthful, it would be great with a steak. Each component of this blend of 36.6% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot, and 31.4% Cabernet Franc was barrel aged separately in 60% French oak and 40% American oak barrels for 6 months (with malolactic fermentation) and then blended together and aged a further 6 months in oak.
