| Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
MICHEL GASSIER |
| Bright deep purple-red colour with an attractive, slightly spicy, intense, ripe, plummy-raspberry nose with some gently floral, faintly cedary notes. Dry, medium bodied, harmonious, slightly spicy, bright, ripe plum-black-cherry-raspberry puree flavours with a lingering, fresh, crisp finish. This NEW blend is actually 70% Grenache, 15% Mourvèdre, 10% Syrah and 5% Carignan with 14% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar. Fifty percent was aged 12 months in 2-to-3-yr-old French oak and the balance on malolactic lees in concrete tank. |

| TASTING NOTE: Based on 75% Grenache, 20% Syrah, and 5% Mourvèdre from the more southern portions of the Costières appellation and vinified with 30% whole clusters and aged one year with 25% in barrels, the 2023 Costières De Nîmes Nostre Païs reveals notes of black raspberries, pepper, wildflowers, lavender, and spice. It's medium bodied, has a layered, elegant mouthfeel, ultra-fine tannins, no hard edges, and outstanding length. This is a \"wow\" Costières de Nîmes that's best enjoyed over the coming 4-6 years, and I wouldn't be surprised to see it evolve longer. Drink date: 2025-2031. Score - 94 (jebdunnuck.com, Nov. 11, 2025) |
