EXCELLENCE CRÉMANT DE LOIRE ROSÉ BRUT SPARKLING AOP, France, traditional method
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer BOUVET
Very light salmon pink colour. Bright, slightly spicy, ripe, plummy-crancherry aromas with some faint brioche notes. Just off dry, medium to medium-light bodied, rounded, slightly spicy, fresh, plummy-red-apple flavours with a rounded, gently effervescent finish. This easy to sip, well balanced, crowd-pleaser is best served chilled to balance the touch of sweetness. A blend of 60% Cabernet Franc and 40% Grolleau that was aged on the lees for 12+ months in the classique tradition, it has 12.5% alcohol and 10 g/L residual sugar with lot number L25265 on the back label. It last appeared in Vintages on August 11, 2001 at $15.50 and was rated as worth trying. CSPC 959304
