RED TRACTOR CABERNET/MERLOT 2020 VQA Niagara Peninsula
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer CREEKSIDE
A SIXTH REPEAT of the 2020 and unfortunately I cannot use my old original tasting 88.5 tasting note from several years ago. Here is a new February 6 release tasting note from fellow wine writer David Lawrason: This is a mid-weight, mid-quality cabernet-merlot from an excellent vintage. It is drinking well, nicely balanced and shows good length, with slightly green aromas and red currant/raspberry fruit. There is a dusting of spicy oak. The tannins are quite drying, the finish gets earthy. Good to very good length. This blend of 50% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Cabernet Franc has 13.5% alcohol and 6 g/L residual sugar with a cork closure. CSPC 11851

TASTING NOTE: From Niagara's stunning 2020 vintage, this Cabernet/Merlot blend is a generous, complex, easy to enjoy wine. It has layered dark and red fruit, blackberry, oak spice, savoury herbs, earth, chocolate, and a luxurious mouthfeel. The producer suggests pairing it with a lentil-mushroom ragout or grilled burgers.
