RESERVA SAUVIGNON BLANC 2024 DO Valle de Leyda
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer VOLCANES DE CHILE
NEW in Vintages. Bright light straw colour. Slightly grassy and herbal on the nose with some very faintly peppery, ripe, yellow grapefruit notes. Dry, medium-light bodied, very slightly spicy, gently grassy, bright albeit harmonious, ripe, melon-apple-lemon-grapefruit flavours with a crisp, slightly leesy, unoaked, harmonious finish. An easygoing, versatile, ready-to-drink, crowd-pleaser, this is a blend of two types of Sauvignon Blanc: clone 242 with its fruit and more exotic notes, while clone 107 for freshness and hints of citrus. It has 13% alcohol and 3 g/L residual sugar with lot number L25279 on the back label. CSPC 47979

TASTING NOTE: How do you make a value-priced Sauvignon Blanc bursting with lime, grapefruit, lemon, garden herbs and gentle spice even more exciting? You source the wine from volcanic soils. Minerality in wine can be difficult for many to identify, but wines sourced from volcanic soils have such an immediate, distinct character - often described as a salty sweetness - that everyone can experience an 'aha!' moment.
