| This Vintages Essential is currently available in 44 stores. Bright ruby-purple red colour. Very attractive, sweet, very spicy, gently candied, intense, ripe, raspberry nose. Sweet, medium bodied, well structured, very bright, spicy, intense, ripe raspberry purée flavours with some lingering, vanilla ice cream notes on the finish all balanced by great acidity. This half-bottle has 13.5% alcohol and according to the LCBO website now only 119 g/L residual sugar (vs 182 in the Southbrook website). Screwcap closure. Note that the quality can vary from batch to batch bottlings. The last one tasted on November 5, 2024 had 2022-04-20 on the lower part of the glass bottle and was priced at $19.95. |

| TASTING NOTE: This has long been one of the best fruit wines produced in Ontario, period. There is a directness and honesty to the raspberry fruit that is almost startling - as if you were deep in the berry patch picking on a hot summer day, with the brush, leaves and earth. A touch candied and jammy on the palate. It is full bodied, very sweet, with very good acidity, that drives onto the finish. It is not complex but it is a treat. The length is excellent.
